I just watched Companion (2025) by Drew Hancock, and I absolutely loved it. The story and screenplay are amazing, and the editing is top-notch—every ten minutes, the movie hits you with a "wow" moment. It kept surprising me the whole way through.

Sophie Thatcher’s performance as the protagonist, Iris, was incredible—she's now one of my favorites. Two scenes really stood out to me: one where her face is covered in blood, and she says, "I didn’t mean to," and another where she speaks German with the police—it was fun watching her in that moment.

Overall, the movie is fantastic. My favorite dialogue:

"The fact that you are just a sad, bitter, weak human being."
"It's like there's this thick black cloud covering everything. Like we see the world, but we don't really see the world, you know. We're all just stumbling around directionless. No sense of meaning, no sense of purpose."
But the most powerful line for me was: "You were nothing to me."

The Place Beyond the Pines (2012), directed by Derek Cianfrance, is a deeply layered drama that explores themes of legacy, moral choices, and the cyclical nature of consequences across generations. The film is structured into three interconnected acts, each focusing on a different perspective, creating a narrative mosaic that examines how the decisions of one generation ripple into the next.

In X (2022), Ti West explores the dark side of human desire and the consequences of repressed sexuality, set against the backdrop of 1970s exploitation filmmaking. The film juxtaposes youthful ambition and sexual freedom with aging, repression, and societal taboos. By using the slasher genre, X highlights the fear of growing old, the power dynamics in sexual liberation, and the tension between being the subject and object of voyeurism.
