We watch movies or series not just for the story, but for the characters, right? Beth Harmon from The Queen's Gambit is one of my all-time favorite characters from one of my favorite shows. I don’t know why, but I feel her pain so deeply while watching the whole series. It works—her journey evokes empathy so well. The way her character develops from start to finish makes us evolve with her. And above all, it’s about chess—that alone is enough to love it.
