My Approach: A Disclaimer
Before we begin, let me be clear—this method may or may not work for you. There’s no guarantee. I’m simply sharing what has helped me in the past, hoping it can be useful to others. Now, let’s get into the process.
Deep Work: Finding Your Flow
Deep work, or what I like to call “flow,” is about immersing yourself in your work until you forget about time. It’s about maintaining focus without distractions. Each morning, before I even open my eyes, I start mentally planning my day. I visualize what needs to get done. After a quick five-minute mental run-through, I get out of bed, freshen up, and start working.
I break my day into focused work sessions, taking short breaks to refresh with tea or coffee (I smoke during my breaks, but that’s just me). It’s not about clocking hours—it’s about making sure what I imagined in the morning gets done by the end of the day. I use a to-do list to track progress. If I complete 7 out of 10 tasks, I only achieved 70% of my goal. Before bed, I add any unfinished tasks to tomorrow’s list, along with 10 new ones. If I can’t sleep, I visualize how I’ll tackle the next day’s tasks, letting my mind plan until I drift off.
