My Journey of Surrender to the Universe

I’m an atheist, not believing in God or gods. In high school, I started questioning everything about religion and god. It wasn’t easy, but I convinced myself that atheism made the most sense, and I often shared my thoughts with friends.

A few years ago, I hit the lowest point of my life. I never imagined I could lose everything; I was depressed. It felt like I was standing on the edge of a mountain, staring into a deep, dark void. Even with my strong mindset and self-motivation, I found myself lost, not knowing what to do with my life.

Five years ago, I dreamed of being an entrepreneur, inspired by Steve Jobs. I tried many things and failed repeatedly, but eventually, I built a meme-sharing site called ahseeit.com. It did well, and I hoped to create the best meme site on the internet, like 9gag. But then, COVID-19 struck, along with personal and family problems. One by one, the challenges piled up, and I felt like I’d lost everything.

Still, I didn’t give up. I kept pushing myself, trying to do whatever I could. But every time I got back up, life knocked me down again, and I felt like I was searching for water in a desert.

One night, unable to sleep around 3:36 AM, I lay in bed with my eyes closed. Suddenly, I saw a light—not harsh, but beautiful and comforting. My intuition pushed me toward it, urging me to ask, to seek. So, I did. I asked for what I wanted in life: my passion, my goals, my dreams. I said, “I surrender my soul to you. This is my purpose—take my soul and make it happen.”

I had made a deal to surrender my soul for my passion.

The next morning, I woke up, questioning if it was real or just a dream. I pushed the thought aside and returned to work on my FME project. But since that day, everything has been falling into place. I’ve seen things happen almost magically. When I ask and truly believe, things start to align. It’s like the universe is listening, and I’ve never felt more connected.

This is my experience. I still identify as an atheist, not believing in God in the traditional sense, but I’ve found many people online sharing similar experiences. Some say the universe replaces God. I’m evolving and learning as I go, sharing this in the hope of hearing your thoughts.

Interestingly, I found this verse: "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight" (Proverbs 3:5-6). It resonates with what happened to me in a strange way.

Let me know what you think.
